Overview

-Freya's revamp overhauled her pre-update gameplay. This diverged partitions of builds and gameplay players each persisted with. -In pre-update, Freya was a viable, perhaps a top surprise jungle pick in higher rank (even in Immortal). However, disdained to this role, Freya's was evicted from being a jungle in favor of being an EXP lane fighter.

Strengths

-Freya is a late game dominator. Her arsenals are meant to chase opponents tenaciously, all whilst taking considerable amount of damage. -Freya is a solid choice for countering slow yet squishy heroes that reluctantly give up damage for mobility. Layla, Hanabi, and Melissa are one of the fewer inclusions.

Weaknesses

-Freya finds herself in trouble with scaling, An improper build priority compensates the fact that she is reliant to it. Aside from this critical predicament, Freya is tanky yet fragile, akin to Alucard's kit. Both of them struggle in sustaining damage inside of crowd controls, where their capability to recover are denied upon.

CC Red + Atk Spd + CD Red

-CC Reducing Items: Tough Boots and Brute Force Breastplate is the CC Reduction tandem. These items let Freya move more often in a crowd controlled spaces. -Attack Speed Items: Corrosion Scythe, Golden Staff, and Sea Halberd are Freya's core item. These item choices are a balance of attack speed and attack. CS slows rather agile enemies, letting her compromise their charges. GS provide bonus for recovering her stack after each 3 hits, allowing her to overlap passive stack. SH provide countermeasure for opposing healers. -CD Reduction Items: Brute Force Breastplate and Oracle will allow Freya to spam here Ultimate more often. Aside from the BFB's CC reducing aid, this item can also help Freya gain attack. Oracle help Freya get leniency upon the anti-heal penalty. -Some might object, "Why not use Demon Hunter Sword(DHS) instead of Sea Halberd?". Well, there are 2 reasons: 1) DHS is inferior compared to CS and GS, as both of these have higher caliber of attack speed bonus. 2) Freya's ultimate relies on attack not attack speed for bonus in terms of recovered HP, which DHS fails to provide so. In contrast to SH which also provides anti-recovery - good for opposing fighters.

Sustain, Scale, Speed (3S)

-Fighter emblem is notably used for semi-tank heroes, which fits the frame of Freya's portrait. The adaptive attack from the fighter emblem is the highest bonus from all the emblems (tied with common emblem). This benefits her Ultimate. -Swift entails more basic attack. This, paired with her new Ultimate, which recovers her HP for each basic attack landed (this disregards multiple targets) aids her sustainability in team fights. -Bargain Hunter is the better option for scaling. Tenacity for sustainability is also a solid choice, but grasping late game properly and complete is a hurdle without reducing the item costs. -Killing Spree further enhances here capability to chase enemies. Aside from the first proposition, this talent let her outplay enemies in a pinch to pinch situation. The instant recovery is annexed to her incredible recovery kit, letting her rampage the field without fearing damages.

Battle Spell

-Vengeance is an indispensable battle spell for Freya. This allow longevity in a short term team fight and perhaps a damage reflect as a bonus. -Further fortifying defense, in return for disposing countable defense item. This allows Freya the liberty of her 3 equipment slots to choose and append damage items without worrying about her innate sustainability when it matters.

Early Game Phase (Laning Phase)

-Scavenging for a reliable source of income, Freya is probably at her lowest in this stage. Overcome this stage without minion drought. -Tips: 1) Always last hit minions if possible. 2) When enemy (especially strong early phase heroes) freezes the lane, try to at least close the range of minion to compensate loses. Use first skill to gain shield, sustain damage, and close the gap. 3) As much as possible, before the first minion hit the 1st opposing minion batch, cut the lane and interfere their jungle. Her early game is dominant compared to assassins.

Middle Game Phase

-In this stage, Freya should have at least built 1-2, 3 if lucked. Freya is still squishy in this stage, so charge with caution. -Tips: 1) Try to lock on squishy opponents. Upon their defeat, Freya should've suffered minimal damage. 2) Do not initiate the teamfight unless all teammates are present. Freya is a Valkyrie not a hero - engaging without teammates is a common mistake for Freya users.

Late Game Phase

-Upon purchasing the complete set, Freya is almost unstoppable. -Tips: 1) Initiate team fight by charging unto the opposing's rear or their damage dealers. 2) Try to skillfully dodge crowd controls. Use Freya's blink skills. 3) Don't spam 2nd skill. Only use it when chasing opponent. Aside from not being able to perform basic attack, you are inclined with throwing away your attack speed items by not using them. 4) Spam 1st skill instead. Upon its cooldown restoration, immediately use it inside teamfight.

General Phase

-Skill Combo: 1) Ultimate - Initial charge and slows the enemies for an easier landing of basic attack. 2) First Skill - Shield gain and stun plus closing range. An immediate reflex of marksman is to dodge and disallow close combats. First skill compromises this decision. 3) 2nd Skill to Basic Attack - Slight range closure. If the enemy marksman still have cards up their sleeves and decided to back out, Freya's 2nd skill also solves this. Now, that the opponent is in range, spam basic attack and recover damage whilst dealing damage. -General Tip: 1) Don't be a hero and charge alone. Remember Freya is a semi-tank character, and is not meant to deal damage. 2) Always lean on opponents' rears. Flanking is the best and feasible word to describe her gameplay. 3) Always disrupt the opposing damage dealer. 4) Use basic attack more often than 2nd skill. 5) Don't engage without ultimate, Freya can't sustain and recover from that much damage without it.

Best With Angela

100% co-op win rate

-Freya is a semi-tank character that relies on basic attack recovery. This concludes her vulnerability in crowd controls where she can't perform actions. -Angela aids her initial charge by providing shield on top of her Vengeance. This gives the opposing tank the dilemma of choosing to whether set earlier or later. Which either way is beneficial for Freya: Diminish their forces before CC or leave Freya open after CC.

Watch Out For Minsitthar

100% counter win rate

-Reliant on skills that has blink in each one of them, Minsitthar is a nightmare for Freya. -Minsitthars ultimate is the outmost definition of skill restriction for Freya. While Freya is vulnerable, on top of that, she can't use here skills.
