Overview
Freya is a Fighter viability introduces genuine draft flexibility. Her improved sustain and area damage directly counter the current assassin-heavy compositions while providing role coverage that most teams desperately need.
Strengths
The most notable change is her revamped second skill, which has no base cooldown and allows for multiple, subsequent dashes by consuming Sacred Orbs. This provides her with unparalleled chasing and gap-closing potential, allowing her to stick to targets and navigate team fights effectively.
Weaknesses
While she gains some resistance, heavy and prolonged crowd control remains her biggest weakness, as it can lock her down and prevent her from executing her combos and generating orbs.
Jungler Freya Builds
Tough Boots: Magic defense and reduced CC duration (CC is a major weakness) Golden Staff: Highly beneficial as it helps stack her passive and a passive that triples healing per basic attack from her Ultimate, boosting her survivability and damage output significantly. Blade of Despair (BoD): If you are snowballing or need pure burst damage, BoD is a great option. Endless Battle: Provides true damage on basic attacks after a skill cast, physical attack, lifesteal, and cooldown reduction, all of which Freya can abuse effectively. Malefic Roar: Provides a significant amount of physical penetration to counter enemies with high physical defense heroes. Immortality: A standard late-game defensive item for a second chance in team fights.
Jungler Freya
Freya has high early game attack speed and good sustain with her shields, making her a strong early duelist. Focus on aggressive jungle clears and look for opportunities to invade the enemy jungle or secure objectives like the Turtle.
Battle Spell
When playing as a jungler Freya, Retribution is the obvious choice. It provides a dual purpose. Firstly, it inflicts damage against jungle monsters, accelerating your farming and allowing you to level up faster. Secondly, it allows you inflict debuffs onto enemy heroes. Specifically, the Ice Retribution blessing works well with her. This allows you to steal movement speed from your target depending on your level for several seconds, making you agile while slowing them down.
Early to Mid-game
High damage output: Her damage output is highest when she can fully utilize her passive (Sacred Orb stacks) and basic attack boosts, which she can do quickly early in the game. Snowball potential: If she gets an early lead, she can easily snowball and become a significant threat in the mid-game team fights, capable of melting enemies. Objective taking: She excels at taking down objectives like the Lord and turrets, allowing her to extend her team's advantage.
Best With Diggie
100% co-op win rate
Freya and Diggie duo is a powerful combo where Diggie uses his Ult to negate Freya's main weakness (crowd control) while also enabling her ultimate with his abilities. Also this combination creates strong ganking potential and teamfight presence, making it a potent duo in the early to mid-game.
Watch Out For Phoveus
20% counter win rate
His Ult, Demonic Invasion, can be triggered every time Freya uses her second skill, allowing him to counter her mobility and close the gap easily.
