Overview
Obsidia is a powerful marksman in Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB), known as the Sovereign of Dark's End. She is #130 hero in MLBB which was released in the Project NEXT update on September 17, 2025. She is the face of MLBB Season 38. She is a late-game hero who heavily relies on stacking her passive and then using her ultimate to lock down a target and finish them off. Obsidia builds Bone Energy which converts into Bone Shards. When she uses a basic attack, all her stored shards strike the target, dealing bonus physical damage (each shard inherits a portion of her basic attack/item effects). Her ultimate tethers her to an enemy, disabling their displacement skills, and she can attack while moving. [ OBSIDIA'S SKILLS ] 👾 Return to Bone (Passive Skill): Every attack or skill grants Bone Energy that turns into Bone Shards, which boost her basic attack damage and inherit item effects. 👾 Abyssal Bone Needle (Skill 1): Fires a bone projectile that damages enemies and generates extra Bone Energy when it hits a hero. 👾 Phantom Shadowmeld (Skill 2): Briefly enters shadow form, gaining a burst of movement speed to dodge or reposition. 👾 Hunt of Bone ( Ultimate Skill): Tethers the first enemy hit, disabling their dashes while allowing Obsidia to move and attack freely, gaining bonus Bone Shards during the tether. [ Skill Leveling Priority Suggestion ]: 1. Max Skill 1 first (for poke and stacking) 2. Then take Ultimate whenever possible 3. Upgrade Skill 2 last So pattern: Skill 1 >> Ultimate >> Skill 2. [ Combos and Tips ]: Combo: Skill 1 (build up shards) >> Ultimate >> while tethered, Skill 2 (enhanced) + basic attacks and shards. -Try to lure the enemy into using their escape/dash before your ultimate, so they cannot respond. -Use Skill 2 before or after ultimate depending on the situation (for repositioning or following the tether). -Do not use ultimate on tanks or heroes who can burst you; it is better to pick squishier targets.
Strengths
Here are the main strengths that Obsidia brings: 1. High single-target damage in late game: Once Bone Shards are built, her basic attacks become very powerful, especially against squishy heroes. 2. On-hit synergy: Because shards inherit part of her attack effects, items like lifesteal, slow, and bonus-HP% damage scale well. 3. Mobility / repositioning: Her Skill 2 gives a burst movement speed to reposition, dodge skill shots, or chase. 4. Ultimate utility: Her ultimate's tether disables enemy dashes / displacement and forces the target to drag her if they move—this is powerful in shutting down mobile heroes. 5. Attacking while moving: During the tether, she can move through terrain/obstacles and still attack.
Weaknesses
1. Weak early game: Before she accumulates enough Bone Shards, her damage is relatively low, making her vulnerable. 2. Passive dependence: If she cannot reliably deal damage (due to crowd control, zoning, or being shut down), she struggles in mid game. 3. Risky ultimate: If she uses her ultimate badly (tethering to a tank or someone with heavy burst), she may pull herself into danger. 4. Squishy / low durability: As a marksman, she has low defenses and is vulnerable to burst / crowd control. 5. Limited escape: Her only "escape / reposition" is Skill 2 (burst movement speed), which may not always help vs hard CC or skillshots. 6. No jungle synergy: Because she does not get Bone Energy from jungle creeps, she cannot jungle effectively.
OBSIDIA'S PRO BUILD
[ WARRIOR BOOTS ] - Early Defense & Stability Provides physical defense and durability in lane, especially against enemy marksmen or fighters. -The movement speed helps Obsidia reposition faster to poke and dodge skill shots. -Early survivability is crucial since Obsidia's early game is weak - this prevents her from getting bullied out of lane. 💡Lets you stay in lane longer to safely build up Bone Energy stacks and reach item power spikes. [ CORROSION SCYTHE ] - Attack Speed & Slow Core item for on-hit heroes like Obsidia. -Boosts attack speed and movement speed, and adds a slow effect on enemies hit — perfect for chasing tethered targets. 💡Works perfectly with her passive since each Bone Shard attack can also trigger the slow. [ DEMON HUNTER SWORD ] - Anti-Tank & Lifesteal DHS gives sustained damage that scales with enemy HP — ideal against tanky frontliners. -Adds lifesteal, which complements the Quantum Charge talent for extra sustain in fights. -With her fast multi-hit attacks (especially during tether), every hit applies DHS passive damage. 💡DHS turns Obsidia into a true duelist, allowing her to melt even durable targets during her Ultimate. [ GOLDEN STAFF ] - Max Attack Speed Conversion Greatly enhances attack speed efficiency, converting excess speed into extra on-hit procs. -Multiplies the effects of Corrosion Scythe and DHS, making every Bone Shard trigger stronger and faster. 💡Enables continuous shard-trigger attacks during tether for massive DPS bursts. [ MALEFIC GUN ] - Range + Penetration Increases basic attack range and provides physical penetration, helping her deal with both tanks and backliners safely. -The range boost lets Obsidia kite safely while still outputting damage - crucial for Obsidia's hit-and-move playstyle. 💡Keeps Obsidia safe but lethal, letting her deal consistent damage from a distance. [ ROSE GOLD METEOR ] - Lifeline & Burst Protection 💡Provides survivability through a shield that activates when HP drops low.
💡 SITUATIONAL/ ALTERNATIVE ITEMS
[ HAA'S CLAWS ] — more lifesteal if you lack sustain. [ BLADE OF DESPAIR ]— if ahead and want maximum burst damage. [ SEA HALBERD ] — anti-heal, useful if enemy has strong sustain. [ IMMORTALITY ] — for second life in late games if enemy has assassins / burst. ADDITIONAL NOTE: 💡Focus on attack speed + on-hit items for maximum shard synergy. 💡Because her passive shards partially inherit item effects, items that provide on-hit effects, lifesteal, slow, etc., are especially potent with her kit. 💡The order can be flexible. Early items should emphasize survivability or damage depending on matchup.
KELRA (THE GOLD STANDARD) BUILD FOR OBSIDIA
Kelra, player of ONICPH and best known as the current Gold Standard of MLBB, has finally used Obsidia against Smart OMEGA in MPL Season 16 and here's his Emblem setup for Obsidia! [ BASIC EMBLEM ] Basic Emblem is designed to mix talents from different paths, letting players fine-tune bonuses for specific heroes. Obsidia's kit is hybrid - she's a marksman who plays like an assassin (burst damage, solo picks, mobility). -By using Basic Emblem, Kelra can combine offensive power, sustain, and mobility from multiple emblem trees — something neither the Marksman nor Assassin path can fully offer alone. 🔥 First Tier : [ THRILL ] Helps Obsidia build early-game poke and shard stacks faster while trading damage in lane. -It allows consistent pressure in Gold Lane without needing to finish items first — exactly how Kelra lanes: fast tempo, constant poking. 🔥 Second Tier: [ MASTER ASSASSIN ] Obsidia excels in isolated 1v1 or 2v2 fights (thanks to her tether ultimate). -This talent rewards Kelra's duelist style, giving stronger kill pressure during ultimates when he hunts alone. -Perfect synergy with her ultimate (Hunt of Bone), which locks her to a single target - she literally fights solo. 🔥 Third Tier : [ QUANTUM CHARGE ] Provides mobility + sustain in trades and chases. -Obsidia lacks natural lifesteal early on, so this helps her survive while attacking during the tether. -Also gives her a mini "sprint" effect - crucial since she is a marksman without dash or blink outside Skill 2. -In fights, it lets Kelra kite and reposition while still attacking, maximizing her 'attack-while-moving' mechanic. Kelra's setup focuses on solo damage, sustain, and mobility — the perfect blend for a hero who duels and cleans up fights. This setup make Obsidia a self-sufficient carry — deadly in isolated fights, slippery in duels, and able to snowball without relying heavily on teammates.
OTHER EMBLEM: MARKSMAN BUILD
Typical Talent / Emblem setup: First Tier : [ SWIFT ] - increases attack speed of Obsidia Second Tier: [ WEAPON MASTER ] - increases physical damage output of Obsidia Third Tier: [ WEAKNESS FINDER ] -slows enemy or reduces their speed when hit. This setup helps her stack faster, do more damage, and chase / kite better. If enemy team is heavy on tanks or healing, some players might swap talents or adjust Emblem path accordingly (e.g. penetration, anti-heal).
Battle Spell
✨ Flicker: This is highly recommended and good for repositioning (either to escape or to initiate). Other Battle spell options depend on matchup / enemy CC: 👾 Purify: Useful if enemy team has heavy crowd control (to survive when tethered or in the fight). 👾 Inspire: Boost DPS during combos, but risk is high since she already wants mobility and survival. Choose your Battle Spell wisely!
EARLY GAME
- Focus on farming: since Obsidia is weak early, prioritize minion last-hits over risky trades. - Use Skill 1 (Abyssal Bone Needle) to poke and pressure, especially to hit enemy heroes to gain Bone Energy. - Stay safe: do not overextend unless you are sure the enemy's position is favorable. - Coordinate with your support / tank to protect you while you scale. - Avoid engaging fights early unless you have a definite advantage or help.
MID GAME
- Start participating in skirmishes, but avoid being frontline. Stay behind your tanks. - Use Skill 2 (Phantom Shadowmeld) to reposition, dodging enemy skills or flanking. - Aim to build up your Bone Shard stacks. - Use your Ultimate (Hunt of Bone) to isolate priority targets (e.g. enemy marksman or mage), but only when you or teammates can follow up. - After using ultimate, follow up with basic attacks enhanced by shards to burst targets. - Be wary of pulling into danger: if the enemy has strong burst or CC, your tether might be turned against you.
LATE GAME
- In full team fights, positioning is crucial. Stay behind frontline and avoid being caught. - Use your ultimate smartly to disrupt enemy movement and secure kills on high-value targets. - While tethered, take advantage of mobile attacks—move through terrain, reposition while still dealing damage. - Always monitor your shard stacks; if you lose stacks (e.g. after a death), you need to rebuild. - Clean up fights: after enemy frontline is down, push into backline using your high damage.
