Overview

Obsidia comes from the Abyss, once ruler of her realm, betrayed and corrupted by the God of Darkness. She awakens as the Sovereign of Dark's End, wielding bone shards to hunt the Spawns of Decay and reclaim her dominion. She has strong ties (and enmity) with other Abyss-heroes like Alice, Thamuz, and Selena. Release Date & Price: Released September 17, 2025. Purchasable for 32,000 Battle Points or 499 Diamonds. Role & Specialty: Marksman, high single-target damage, scaling with passive shards, capable of poking, chasing, and lockdown with her ultimate. Needs time and space to scale. Skills 1. Passive: Return to Bone Obsidia gains Bone Energy when dealing damage to enemy heroes, minions, or structures. Basic attacks vs non-hero units give +1 energy, enemy heroes give +2, and skills give 3× energy. No energy from hitting creeps. When she reaches 30 Bone Energy, it converts into a Bone Shard (up to 25 shards max). 2. Skill 1: Abyssal Bone Needle Obsidia fires a needle of bone projectile. If it hits an enemy hero, it triggers the passive, giving Bone Energy and contributing to shard accumulation. Deals physical damage. The skill cooldown decreases as it levels. Base damage starts ~325 at level 1 and scales up. 3. Skill 2: Phantom Shadowmeld When used, Obsidia enters Shadowmeld form briefly, gaining a large movement speed boost (500%) for about 0.3 seconds. Useful for repositioning, dodging, chasing. During her Ultimate, this skill is enhanced: increased duration, and significantly reduced cooldown. 4. Ultimate: Hunt of Bone Obsidia fires Bones of Wrath in a target direction. The first enemy hero hit is briefly stunned and tethered. She is pulled toward them. While tethered: enemy cannot use displacement skills (blink/dash etc.), Obsidia is also tethered to them (can't move far away), their movement drags her along. She gains temporary Bone Shards. She can move through obstacles and still use Basic Attacks while moving.

Strengths

1. Very strong single-target damage in mid to late game once Bone Shards are accumulated. Her passive Return to Bone gives her extra hit damage that scales up, making her output much higher than many marksmen who lack similar stacking mechanics. 2. Good at punishing mobile heroes. Her ultimate (Hunt of Bone) tethers and pulls her to the first hero hit, disables displacement skills of the target. This makes her effective vs targets who rely on dash or blink since once tethered, they cannot escape easily. 3. High poke and lane pressure early via Skill 1 (Abyssal Bone Needle). She can accumulate shards early by poking and dealing damage safely, which helps her scale faster. 4. Good mobility / repositioning tools. Her Skill 2 (Phantom Shadowmeld) grants a burst of movement speed and gets enhanced during her ultimate with reduced cooldowns and longer duration. This allows her to chase, escape, or reposition in fights. 5. Her Bone Shards inherit item effects (lifesteal, attack effects, slows etc.). That means her build choices matter and can amplify her passive, giving more sustain and better utility with items.

Weaknesses

1. Very weak in early game. Before enough Bone Shards are built and core items are obtained, her damage is low and she is vulnerable to being bullied in lane. Aggressive laners or early gankers can exploit this to slow her scaling. 2. Requires good accuracy and timing. Hitting Skill 1 and landing her ultimate correctly is critical. Missing these key skills wastes opportunities to build shards or secure kills and can leave her exposed. 3. Very squishy / fragile until mid-game. Her durability is low, especially against heroes with burst damage or heavy crowd control. She lacks hard defensive skills, relying mostly on mobility and lifesteal. 4. Ultimate has risk. Using the ultimate can sometimes put her in bad position especially if the target is dangerous or if team follow-up is not ready. Because Obsidia is tethered to the target, she can be dragged into danger. 5. Less effective in fights where crowd control or grouped AoE CC forces her into bad positioning. Because she depends on being able to reposition, escape or maintain safe distance, heavy CC that locks her down or interrupts her mobility reduces her effectiveness.

OBSIDIA BUILD

1. Swift Boots For attack speed + movement speed. Very important early to stack Bone Shards faster and maintain mobility. 2. Haas Claws Strong lifesteal item that helps Obsidia sustain. Since Scarlet Phantom is removed, its crit/attack speed effects are partly merged into Haas Claw or replaced by other items. Haas Claw helps her stay longer in fights. 3. Corrosion Scythe Adds attack speed + slows on basic attacks. This helps Obsidia stick to targets and control fights. It boosts her burst and chase. 4. Demon Hunter Sword (DHS) Percent HP damage helps with shredding tanks and front liners. Works well with her passive and attack speed builds. 5. Golden Staff Further increases attack speed and enhances on-hit effects. Since many of her Bone Shards inherit item effects, Golden Staff amplifies value. 6. Great Dragon Spear New item replacing Scarlet Phantom. Provides Physical Attack + Critical Chance + Cooldown Reduction, plus a passive that boosts Movement Speed after casting Ultimate. This is ideal for Obsidia in late game for both damage and utility. Situational / Defensive Items Wind of Nature or Rose Gold Meteor for added survivability vs burst physical or magic damage. Sea Halberd when facing high healing or lifesteal compositions. Immortality if you expect to be focused; gives possible second life.

OBSIDIA EMBLEM

The Marksman Emblem is the best option for Obsidia because it amplifies her offensive capabilities and sustain, allowing her to maximize her role as a high DPS finisher. Her passive "Return to Bone" benefits greatly from attack effects and lifesteal, which are enhanced by this emblem path. Recommended Talents: Tier 1: Fatal This talent increases Critical Chance and Critical Damage. Since Obsidia scales well with basic attacks and her Bone Shards inherit attack effects, Fatal makes her late-game damage output even scarier. A single crit amplified by shards can instantly melt squishier heroes. Tier 2: Weapons Master This talent boosts her Physical Attack by taking extra attributes from items, emblems, and equipment. Obsidia's shard mechanic scales with Physical Attack, so every bit of attack increase enhances her damage across skills and passive. Tier 3 (Core Talent): Weakness Finder This is the most valuable talent for Obsidia. Weakness Finder provides a chance to slow enemy movement speed and attack speed with her basic attacks. Since her Bone Shards trigger on-hit effects, every shard attack has a chance to apply Weakness Finder. This makes it very difficult for enemies to escape while also reducing their damage output. It greatly synergizes with her ultimate, which locks enemies down and forces them to fight her directly. Why Marksman Emblem Works: This setup gives Obsidia everything she needs: damage, crit power, and utility. The slowing effect of Weakness Finder makes her tether from Hunt of Bone even more oppressive, as enemies will struggle to break free. It also improves her dueling potential against fighters and assassins who try to dive her. Overall, the Marksman Emblem maximizes her role as a sustained DPS while compensating for her lack of control effects.

Battle Spell

Flicker is the most recommended battle spell for Obsidia because it provides her with both offensive and defensive utility that her kit naturally lacks. As a marksman with very low durability, she is highly vulnerable to assassins, mages, and tanks who can lock her down. Flicker serves as her lifeline in these situations, giving her instant repositioning in a single use. Defensive Use: When Obsidia is targeted by hard engage heroes like Chou, Khufra, or Saber, she can quickly Flicker away to escape their combo. Since she does not have a dash ability like other marksmen, Flicker acts as her emergency escape button. Pairing Flicker with Phantom Shadowmeld allows her to disengage even more effectively, creating space to reposition and continue attacking. Offensive Use: Flicker can also be used aggressively. Skilled Obsidia players can combine Flicker with her ultimate Hunt of Bone to extend the range or surprise opponents. For example, casting the ultimate and then immediately Flickering toward the enemy can secure the tether and stun, catching opponents who thought they were safe. This combo is risky but extremely rewarding when executed properly because it can lock down key backline targets. Teamfight Value: In large fights, Flicker ensures that Obsidia maintains her ideal position. A well timed Flicker can dodge AoE ultimates like Atlas' Fatal Links or Kagura's Rasho Umbrella Flee while allowing her to keep dealing consistent damage. Because positioning is the most important aspect for a marksman, Flicker directly boosts her survivability and damage potential across all stages of the game. In short, Flicker is not just a panic button for survival but a flexible spell that unlocks Obsidia's potential in both offense and defense. Correct usage of Flicker often determines whether she becomes an easy target or the ultimate late-game carry.

QUICK TIPS

Always position at the backline during teamfights. Obsidia deals the most damage when protected and uninterrupted. Abuse her passive "Return to Bone" by constantly attacking; remember that every shard benefits from on-hit effects like Demon Hunter Sword and Corrosion Scythe. Never waste "Hunt of Bone" (Ultimate) recklessly. Use it when you are sure the enemy cannot escape or when your team is ready to follow up. Prioritize farming in the early game. Without items, Obsidia is very weak and vulnerable. Do not overextend alone, as she has no reliable escape tools. Always rely on map awareness and allies for protection.

STRATEGIES BY PHASE

Early Game (Levels 1-7) In the early game, Obsidia is vulnerable and should prioritize farming rather than forcing fights. Focus on clearing waves efficiently with "Bone Flare" (Skill 1) and poke enemies carefully without committing. It is crucial to build Swift Boots and Haas Claws as early as possible to boost survivability. Roam as little as possible during this phase; instead, stay in your lane and avoid unnecessary duels with assassins or fighters who can punish your weak early damage. Rely on your support or tank to help you secure objectives like the first Turtle. Playing safe and patient ensures you transition into mid-game stronger. Mid Game (Levels 8-12) This is the phase where Obsidia begins to spike. With items like Corrosion Scythe and Demon Hunter Sword, her sustained DPS becomes a threat. Start grouping with your team, but always maintain safe positioning at the back. Use "Bone Prison" (Skill 2) to trap key targets and combine it with your teammates' crowd control. This is also the phase to participate in objective control—Turtles, outer towers, and skirmishes around the map. Remember that Obsidia still lacks mobility, so always carry Flicker to escape dives. With her Ultimate, "Hunt of Bone," focus on catching out priority squishy heroes like enemy marksmen or mages. Late Game (Levels 13-15) This is Obsidia's strongest phase. Fully equipped with Golden Staff, Great Dragon Spear, and situational items, she transforms into an unstoppable DPS machine. In late-game teamfights, your goal is to shred through enemy frontliners while applying shard effects to everyone nearby. Do not dive into the backline unless it is safe; let enemies come to you and punish them. Timing of "Hunt of Bone" is critical—cast it when the fight is committed so enemies cannot disengage. Always watch for assassins with burst potential; rely on Wind of Nature, Immortality, or support peel to survive. If positioned well, Obsidia can wipe entire teams almost single-handedly.

Best With Tigreal

Tigreal is an excellent partner for Obsidia because of his powerful crowd control. His ultimate "Implosion" and combo knock-ups can group enemies together, creating the perfect setup for Obsidia's "Hunt of Bone" tether. Once enemies are trapped inside Tigreal's control, Obsidia can unleash her shards and basic attacks safely from the backline. Additionally, Tigreal's natural tankiness and ability to peel for allies protect Obsidia from being dived by assassins. This synergy allows her to maximize damage output while minimizing her weaknesses.

Watch Out For Hayabusa

Hayabusa is one of the most dangerous assassins for Obsidia. His mobility and burst damage allow him to dive directly into the backline, bypassing Obsidia's frontliners. With "Ougi: Shadow Kill," Hayabusa can delete her almost instantly if she does not have defensive items like Wind of Nature or Immortality. Since Obsidia has no dash or reliable escape tool, she struggles heavily against Hayabusa's split-push pressure and assassination attempts. Proper positioning and ally peel are the only ways to survive him.
