Overview
Role: Fighter / Burst Lane: EXP Lane (can also jungle situationally) Release Date / Price: Released June 25, 2019; price: 32,000 Battle Points or 599 Diamonds Lore / Background: Dyrroth is known as the Prince of the Abyss. Kidnapped in his youth and raised under the shadow of darkness, he now wields Abyssal power and embodies vengeance. He seeks to assert his dominance, especially over those who betray or oppress. Skill Breakdown Passive: Wrath of the Abyss Dyrroth accumulates Rage as he attacks and uses skills. Once Rage reaches a threshold, his first two abilities become enhanced. Also, every 2 basic attacks trigger a Circle Strike that deals AoE physical damage and heals Dyrroth based on damage dealt. Hitting heroes reduces the cooldowns of his first and second skills by 1 second each. Skill 1: Burst Strike Dyrroth releases a burst in a direction, damaging enemies and applying a slow. When enhanced (if Rage is ready), it has a longer range, deals higher damage, and slows more strongly. Skill 2: Spectre Step First cast: Dyrroth dashes to a direction, dealing damage when he hits a target. Second cast ("Fatal Strike"): He locks onto an enemy and slashes them, dealing multiple hits and reducing their physical defense for several seconds. Enhanced: stronger damage, stronger slow, more defense reduction. Ultimate: Abysm Strike Dyrroth charges and unleashes a powerful fatal slash that deals physical damage based on his extra physical attack and a percentage of the target's missing HP. Also slows enemies hit. Because of the missing-HP scaling, it serves well as a finisher.
Strengths
High sustained damage in extended fights thanks to his passive healing and Rage-enhanced abilities. Strong dueling potential and lane pressure early to mid game; he punishes poor positioning. Excellent finisher: ultimate scales with missing HP, making him deadly against low-health targets. Good mobility and gap closing via Skill 2, letting him chase or stick to targets. Passive reduces skill cooldowns on hit, increasing uptime and making him a constant threat in skirmishes. Built-in physical defense reduction (via Skill 2 second cast) helps shred tankier opponents for the team. Flexible build paths: can itemize for burst, sustain, or more durability depending on matchups.
Weaknesses
Highly dependent on Rage/enhanced skills â without Rage ready his damage and utility drop significantly. Vulnerable to crowd control and interrupts; heavy CC can shut down his combos and healing. Skill-reliant and punishable if his key abilities are missed or on cooldown. Can be kited and poked down by ranged comps before he closes distance. Item-dependent to reach peak effectiveness; a poor early game can leave him underwhelming. Ultimate and some skills are telegraphedâenemy teams can prepare counters or disengage. Struggles in chaotic fights where he cannot isolate or reach the backline safely.
DYRROTH BUILD
Below is a refined build path and situational options for Dyrroth in the modern meta, with rationale behind each pick. Drawn from recent guides. Core Build Path 1. Tough Boots Reduces duration of crowd control, useful for surviving ganks and staying mobile in fights. 2. Blade of the Heptaseas Early magic penetration and burst; helps you punch through squishy targets. 3. Sky Piercer Boosts your burst, especially during combos, and gives extra mobility / utility. 4. Hunter Strike Provides cooldown reduction and burst amplification, letting you combo more often. 5. Sea Halberd (or Dominance Ice, situational) Against healing / lifesteal heroes (e.g. Esmeralda, Uranus, Yu Zhong), Sea Halberd's anti-heal is strong. If enemy has heavy sustain or tankiness, Dominance Ice is a good defensive / utility option (armor, mana regen, anti-heal). 6. Blade of Despair Big spike in physical attack, ideal to finish off weakened enemies. Situational / Alternative Items Immortality: gives second life; useful if you expect to dive deep in fights and be targeted. Malefic Roar: to counter heavy armor or if enemy builds lots of defense. Corrosion Scythe: for added control (slows) and synergy with multi-hit attacks. Queen's Wings, Blade Armor, Twilight Armor, or other defense items depending on enemy damage composition. Raptor Machete + Retribution (jungle build): if you opt to jungle with Dyrroth, you can start with jungle items. Build Tips & Order Finish your core damage / penetration items first before investing heavily into defense, unless the enemy team's burst is overwhelming. Prioritize items that give you cooldown reduction, penetration, and sustain early, then round off with defensive or utility items. Continuously adapt if enemy healer / sustain is strong, build Sea Halberd or anti-heal earlier.
DYRROTH EMBLEM
Preferred Emblem: Assassin Emblem This emblem maximizes Dyrroth's damage potential by granting adaptive attack, physical penetration, and movement speed, all of which synergize well with his burst and combo-based play. Talent Suggestions: Tier 1: Thrill increases adaptive attack (good for early damage) Tier 2: Master Assassin boosts damage in 1v1 or duels Tier 3 / Core Talent: Lethal Ignition deals burn / extra damage over hits, which works with Dyrroth's multi-hit skills and combo style Alternative / Supplementary Emblem: Fighter Emblem Useful if you need extra sustainability or want to balance offense and defense. Some players combine Fighter's Festival of Blood (spell vamp / healing) to bolster Dyrroth's sustain, especially in extended fights. Emblem Notes / Tips: Always ensure your emblem choice complements your build and playstyle: if you're gearing heavily into burst, Assassin is superior; if you expect heavy counterplay or early ganks, Fighter gives you defensive buffer. The extra penetration from Assassin helps make Dyrroth's physical defense reduction (from Spectre Step) more effective. Movement speed from emblems helps him close gaps / chase / reposition, which is critical for his combo and burst.
Battle Spell
Flicker is the usual pick for Dyrroth, especially when used in the EXP lane. It provides repositioning capabilityâeither extending the range or changing the direction of Abysm Strike, or helping you escape dangerous situations. Because his ultimate has a slight cast delay, combining it with Flicker can catch fleeing enemies or ensure you land a hit. If you use Dyrroth as a jungler, Retribution is another common choice to help with jungle clearing and objective control.
QUICK TIPS
Always monitor your Rage bar. Without at least one Rage bar, your skills are weaker. Wait for enhancement before engaging. Use Spectre Step (Skill 2) to initiate or reposition. It's your primary gap closer and escape tool. Follow up immediately with Burst Strike and basic attacks to trigger your passive's Circle Strike, which heals and can reduce cooldowns. Against minion waves, position yourself to hit multiple units with Burst Strike to generate Rage faster. In fights, try to hit heroes (not just minions) to benefit more from cooldown reductions and enhanced effects. Use Flicker + Abysm Strike combos: start ultimate, then Flicker to reposition or catch fleeing targets. Don't use your full combo on a target that's out of reach, always check distance and mobility before committing. Be cautious when enemy has strong CC or burst, if you get locked down mid combo, you can die before finishing. Timing is critical: you want to engage when your enhanced skills are available and enemy escape is less likely (after key enemy ultimates are used).
STRATEGIES BY PHASE
Early Game Focus on farming and laning safely. Use Burst Strike to poke enemy laners and harass. Build Rage early by hitting minions and grouping minion wavesâfill your Rage bar before looking for fights. Use Circle Strike (from passive) often to heal when you trade. Watch for enemy ganksâyour mobility is good but not foolproof early. If jungle path is open, you may invade or help your jungler, but only if safe. Mid Game Begin to rotate and look for picks. If you see an enemy isolated, use Spectre Step then Burst Strike then Ultimate then basic attacks. In teamfights, enter after the initial engagement. Let the tank / initiator open and then dive in. Use Defensive items if fights are dangerousâdon't go all in blindly. Try lane pressure: force opponents to respond so you draw attention, freeing other lanes. Secure objectives (turrets, Turtle, Lord) with your teamâDyrroth's damage and sustain help in those fights. Late Game You become a strong damage diver and assassin. Focus on catching or bursting backline mages/marksmen. Wait for enemy CC to be used so you're less interrupted. Use your full combo with Rage enhancement to clear or finish off remaining enemies. If team is engaged and your target is low, don't hesitate to dive; but if your combo fails or is interrupted, fallback. Stay aware of flanks and enemy ganksâpositioning is critical. Use Flicker strategically with Abysm Strike to surprise or reposition for a final blow.
Best With Tigreal
They can lock down enemies, setting up easy combos for Dyrroth to follow. Their crowd control absorbs attention and protects Dyrroth while he dives in.
Watch Out For Hayabusa
Can kill Dyrroth before he completes his combo, especially early when he is not yet itemized. Mobile burst threats force him to play defensively.
