Overview
Obsidia is a swift assassin who excels at picking off isolated enemies, infiltrating backlines, and bursting down squishy targets. She possesses high mobility and damage but requires careful timing and positioning. In the right hands, she can turn fights by eliminating key enemy heroes quickly.
Strengths
1. High burst damage - can quickly eliminate fragile enemies with skill combo. 2. Very mobile - has multiple dashes and blinks for chasing or escaping. 3. Stealth advantage - passive invisibility helps with roaming and ambush. 4. Strong snowball potential - can carry the game when gaining an early lead. 5. Clone utility - Shadow Step clone can distract or force enemies to waste skills.
Weaknesses
1. Fragile - low defense means she must avoid direct focus in fights. 2. Cooldown dependent - relies heavily on skills to deal damage and escape. 3. Crowd control sensitive - vulnerable to stuns, roots and immobilization. 4. Requires good positioning - needs precise timing to engage and retreat safely. 5. Early pressure required - performs best when gaining advantage in early to mid game.
Recommended Equipments
Your goal is to spam your Skill 1, rapid-fire your basic attacks, and get as many stacks as you can. Start with Magic boots for the extra Cooldown. Follow it up with Corrosion Scythe for the stacking damage and on-hit slow, on top of gaining a bit of attack speed. For your mid-game items, start with Demon Hunter Sword to start dealing more damage based on enemy HP. However, you can also swap this with a Sea Halberd if the enemy team has a solid healing or shield lineup. The next item will be the Golden Staff for even more attack speed. The last two items you build will vary. The general combination is Malefic Gun for the extra Basic Attack range and Rose Gold Meteor for a bit of shield to keep you alive longer. However, if you think you need more sustain, you can swap one of the items with Haa's claws. If you manage to snowball early, consider getting a Blade of Despair for a massive damage boost.
Recommended emblem
Placing Swift in the first slot is self-explanatory. You need as much attack speed as you can get without compromising on damage. The second slot can be Weapons Master to further increase Obsidia's damage, including her Bone Shard attacks. For the final slot, go for the Weakness Finder for the on-hit slow and attack speed reduction effect. For the Battle Spell, you need some extra mobility, something Obsidia lacks in her kit. Flicker and Sprint are good candidates. However, you can always go for Purify when the enemy team has a lot of Crowd Control effects. Don't even bother with Retribution. Obsidia is not designed to be a hero for the Jungle role.
Battle Spell
Flicker gives Obsidia extra safety and flexibility. She often dives into the enemy backline and can be trapped in dangerous positions. Flicker helps in two ways: Engage tool - Flicker can be combined with her skills to extend her dash range and surprise enemies. Escape option - If her dash or clone skill is on cooldown, Flicker gives her a quick way out after finishing a target.
Battle Tips
Obsidia gains Bone Energy with each target hit, except jungle creeps. Try to hit multiple targets with her Skill 1: Abyssal Bone Needle at once to maximize the effect. Even better if you can hit multiple heroies for the most Bone Energy gain. Avoid using your Ultimate on enemies with Vengeans or skills with a similar mechanic like Belerick. You're going to have a bad time as you get hit with damage reflection effects. Focus on targeting the back line heroes like mages or marksmen. he most common mistake marksmen players make is to be first in line in the team fight. Obsidia has little to no escape mechanics, with only Skill 2: Phantom Shadowmeld being her means of mobility. Always wait for your ally fighters and tanks to charge in first before committing to a fight.
Best With Tigreal
Tigreal can lock enemies with his stun and ultimate. This gives Obsidia the perfect chance to dive in and burst targets. Obsidia works best when enemies are controlled, so Tigreal makes her job much easier.
Watch Out For Franco
Franco is a strong counter because he can pull Obsidia with Iron Hook and stop her with his ultimate. Once caught, it is very hard for her to escape. Players must be careful with positioning when Franco is in the game.
