Overview
Gloo is one of the premier meta picks in ranked mode right now, commanding a high ban rate due to his oppressive utility and relentless crowd control. Primarily built as a tank, he is highly versatile, comfortably anchoring the EXP Lane as a scaling bully or taking over the map as a disruptive Roamer. What makes Gloo a top-tier pick is his unique ability to completely shut down high-mobility heroes and isolate priority targets. Through his passive, he inflicts stacking slow effects on enemies while simultaneously reducing their damage output. Once he triggers his ultimate, Split, Split, Gloo transforms from a frontline meat-shield into a targeted assassin; he can literally latch onto an enemy core, hijack their movement, and force them out of position while transferring incoming damage directly to his host. Whether he is zoning out enemy junglers during Turtle fights or forcing the enemy team to burn their bans, Gloo dominates the map by turning the enemy's own positioning against them. Strengths
One of gloo's advantages during the early laning phase is his relentless poking capabilities. With his first skill, slam-slam, he clears minion waves rapidly and pokes the enemy with magic damage at just level 1 because he can detonate and reset the cool down of his first skill just by walking into the goo slam-slam left behind. The strongest aspect of Gloo's kit is the damage-sharing mechanic when he is attached to an enemy host. When Gloo uses his Ultimate to ride an enemy hero, up to 80% of the damage Gloo takes is transferred directly to the host. If the enemy team panic-fires their high-burst skills at Gloo to try and peel him off, they end up accidentally killing their own Marksman or Mage. If they don't attack him, Gloo continuously stuns the host, spams anti-heal, and drags them directly into his allies.
Weaknesses
Gloo's weaknesses shows when she uses his second skill. While this skill gives him temporary invincibility, it's one of the reasons of his downfall during teamfights. Some mages can take that extra entities to their advantage like Faramis and Vexanna and can burst him down with the right items. And some heroes can heal from his goo, like Carmilla and Lunox.
High HP, High Damae
Dominance Ice for anti-heal and extra defence. Rapid boots for movement speed rotation. Cursed helmet for wave clear and extra burn effect during ult. Glowing wand for anti-heal (for enemy attached) and burn effect during ult. Guardian helmet for extra damage and regen. Queens wings for extra damage and survivability.
Harass
Basic emblem for the mana regeneration allowing him to spam his first skill in the early-late game. Agility for extra movement speed and Wilderness Blessing for another extra movement speed when rotating to other lanes. Brave Smite for extra survivability, since gloo is a skill caster, brave smite is the perfect talent for him, second only to Impure Rage.
Battle Spell
I highly recommend using Flameshot. Flameshot has many uses, attack and defend, you can hit low hp escaping heroes and can push away heroes that are chasing him. Flameshot comes extremely helpful when he uses his ult and performs the double pull.
Early game
He is dominant in early because of his poke and heal with his first skill. With this emblem you can harass your lane opponent and rotate to other lanes in the early game leaving the enemy at a disadvantage. Gloo's strength is his map presence and high heal/tankiness.
Mid game
During the mid game, priorities taking the backline whilst dishing out damage from the enemy. Targets should be squishy junglers, marksmen, mages, or squishy roam/exp.
Late game
During the late game when he completes his item build, he can turn fights around and can 1v3 or 1v5 any situation. With this build you can melt marksmen and mages with ease even when their teammates are not hitting them.
Best With Angela
High heal and extra damage during his ult.
Watch Out For Faramis
Only disadvantage is when you use second skill. NOTE: Do not use or Limit the use of your second skill against this hero.
