Overview

Aulus, the Warrior of Ferocity, has returned with a powerful revamp in Patch 2.1.67 (released April 22, 2026). The old Aulus was a passive, late-game basic attack hero who struggled to close gaps. The new Aulus is a relentless bruiser with real mobility, control immunity, and AoE damage โ€” a true Fighter/Jungler who dominates sustained brawls. If you love axe-swinging, face-smashing combat, Aulus is now one of the most satisfying fighters in the Land of Dawn.

Strengths

1. Unstoppable Initiation Skill 1 gives Aulus Movement Speed + Slow Immunity + Control Immunity during his enraged state. Once he charges in, most heroes cannot simply CC him away and walk off. 2. Strong Gap-Closing Skill 2's recast dash lets Aulus stick to targets relentlessly. Even if an enemy flashes or dashes away, the second cast lets him follow up immediately. 3. Massive AoE Damage The revamped Ultimate deals large-scale AoE Physical Damage to all nearby enemies โ€” not just one target. In a clustered teamfight, this can devastate the entire enemy team. 4. Built-in Sustain War Axe (core item) gives Lifesteal, and his enhanced basic attacks at full Fighting Spirit stacks deal continuous damage with recovery. He can 1v1 most fighters in a long trade. 5. Wall-Passing Mobility Skill 2's recast dash can pass through thin walls โ€” giving Aulus surprise angles to engage or escape that most enemies don't expect. 6. Scales Well with Basic Attacks At max Fighting Spirit stacks, his basic attacks deal bonus damage in a straight line with extra range. This makes him dangerous even between skill cooldowns.

Weaknesses

1. No Hard Crowd Control Aulus has zero stuns, knockups, or silences. He can slow with Skill 2, but he cannot lock down enemies the way other fighters like Dyrroth or Jawhead can. Enemies with good positioning can simply sidestep him. 2. Countered by High Burst Damage Heroes like Ling, Hayabusa, and Dyrroth can delete Aulus before he reaches full Fighting Spirit stacks โ€” making his enhanced basic attack window useless if he dies first. 3. Stack-Dependent โ€” Needs Setup Time Aulus is weakest the moment he enters a fight. He needs a few seconds of dealing damage to build his Fighting Spirit stacks. If he gets burst down immediately, his power never comes online. 4. Punished by High Mobility Heroes If the enemy can dash or blink away repeatedly (Ling, Harith, Lancelot), Aulus struggles to maintain contact long enough to stay at max stacks. 5. Countered by Specific Items Wind of Nature, Winter Crown, and Immortality all break his combo window by making enemies temporarily invulnerable โ€” forcing him to reset or overcommit wastefully. 6. Vulnerable to Strong CC Despite his Skill 1 immunity, high-level crowd control (hard CC like suppression or multi-hit stuns) can still stop his momentum mid-combo and leave him exposed.

Full Build

War Axe CORE item โ€” same as Fighter build, gives stacking Physical Attack, Lifesteal, and True Damage at full stacks Brute Force Breastplate Needs more damage + speed the longer he fights. It solves him to sustain more and helps to reduce slight cc Malefic Roar Physical Penetration to ensure even tanky enemies are not safe from Aulus's enhanced basic attacks. Rose Gold Meteor Gets burst down at low HP before finishing combo & It helps to sustain against magic burst or high burst lineups Immortality Second life in team fights Additionally according to enemy draft Sea Halbread can be used against high health enemies and get sky piecer at early to secure kills after getting his core war axe

Assassin Emblem (Full Damage Jungle)

Aulus in the Jungle role has a completely different priority. He is not trying to outlast an enemy in a long duel โ€” he is trying to invade, gank, and kill fast before the enemy can react or escape. Rupture gives Physical Penetration from the very start of the game, meaning Aulus's skills and enhanced basic attacks cut through enemy defense earlier โ€” making his level 4 and level 6 ganks genuinely threatening even before items are built. Seasoned Hunter is non-negotiable for any jungler. It gives +15% damage to Lord and Turtle โ€” the two objectives that win the game. Skipping this talent as a jungler means slower objective control, which directly costs your team games even if Aulus is performing well in kills. Killing Spree is the snowball talent that fits a jungle Aulus perfectly. After securing a kill, he instantly recovers 15% of his lost HP and gains 20% Movement Speed โ€” letting him escape safely, chase the next target, or rotate to the next objective without needing to recall. For a jungler who moves constantly around the map, this is far more valuable than a sustain talent that only works while standing in a fight. Simple reason: Assassin Emblem turns Aulus into a fast, threatening jungler who kills quickly, controls objectives, and keeps moving โ€” instead of standing still and healing through a long brawl.

Fighter Emblem

Aulus in the EXP Lane needs to survive long solo duels against other fighters. The Fighter Emblem's base stats of +22 Adaptive Attack, +10% Spell Vamp, and +6 Hybrid Defense are built exactly for heroes who live in melee range and trade continuously. Firmness adds extra Physical and Magic Defense on top of the emblem's base defense โ€” meaning Aulus can absorb the first burst of damage in a trade without burning a health potion or backing off early. Festival of Blood rewards aggressive play. Every kill or assist stacks more Spell Vamp, so the longer Aulus stays in fights and secures takedowns, the more he heals from his own skill damage. This perfectly matches his Fighting Spirit mechanic โ€” both reward staying in combat. Brave Smite is the real sustain engine. Every 6 seconds, dealing skill damage to an enemy hero restores 5% of Aulus's Max HP. Since Skill 1, Skill 2, and Ultimate all deal skill damage, Brave Smite procs constantly throughout every fight โ€” giving Aulus a reliable self-heal that keeps him alive long enough to reach full Fighting Spirit stacks and finish the job. Simple reason: Fighter Emblem keeps Aulus alive long enough to win the extended brawl he was designed to have.

Battle Spell

Aulus's Biggest Problem โ€” Enemies Running Away The revamped Aulus is a melee fighter who needs to stay close to enemies to build Fighting Spirit stacks. If the enemy simply walks or dashes away, his stacks drop and his enhanced basic attacks never activate. This is exactly why Ice Retribution solves his core weakness.

Early Game (Level 1 - 6)

Farm jungle efficiently. Use Skill 1 to move between camps faster. Focus on stacking War Axe as quickly as possible. Gank lanes only when the enemy is overextended โ€” Aulus needs level 4 (Skill 2 recast unlocked) before ganking becomes reliable.

Mid Game (Level 7-12)

This is Aulus's power window after War Axe is complete. Rotate to objectives (Turtle, Lord). Use Skill 1 and Skill 2 to quickly assassinate low-mobility carries in side lanes. Always maintain Fighting Spirit stacks before engaging

Late game (Level 13+)

Aulus excels in sustained teamfights. Enter with Skill 1 (control immunity), dash onto the enemy backline with Skill 2, pop Ultimate, and let your enhanced basic attacks do the rest. Avoid burst assassins โ€” stick near your tank for protection.

Best With Guinevere

Guinevere's knockup and floating effect locks enemies in one spot for several seconds. This is a perfect setup for Aulus โ€” he charges in with Skill 1 right as Guinevere launches her combo, and the enemy cannot move while Aulus reaches full stacks and unleashes his Ultimate.

Watch Out For Dyrroth

High burst and armor shred melts Aulus quickly
