Aulus is a scaling Fighter who acts as a late-game insurance policy for his team. While he starts the game as a small Leonin with limited range, he becomes a "Late-Game Monster" by upgrading his Ultimate, which physically grows his axe and increases his basic attack range, physical damage, and lifesteal. His gameplay centers on his Fighting Spirit passive, which builds stacks to grant massive attack speed and movement speed, allowing him to shred through entire teams once fully scaled.
Strengths
Insane Late-Game Scaling: One of the strongest late-game fighters due to permanent stat boosts (range and damage) from his Ultimate milestones at levels 4, 8, and 12. High Sustained Damage: His Skill 2 provides massive attack speed boosts, making him a terror in extended team fights where he can continuously trigger enhanced basic attacks. Control Immunity & Mobility: His revamped Skill 1 removes slow effects and provides Control Immunity (CC immunity) when in an enraged state, making it very hard for enemies to lock him down or stop his charge.
Weaknesses
Weak Early Game: Aulus is very vulnerable before reaching his level milestones. He can easily be bullied or invaded in the jungle by early-game aggressive heroes like Jawhead or Martis. Vulnerable to Suppression: While he has high mobility and CC immunity, he can still be stopped by "Suppression" effects (like Franco or Kaja's ultimate) which bypass his immunity. Kiting Potential: Because he relies entirely on basic attacks, high-mobility heroes or those with heavy slows (like Valir or Ling) can kite him, keeping him away from his targets before he can build his passive stacks.
"Unstoppable Hammer Sustain"
This build is specifically designed to make Aulus a reliable late-game carry who cannot be easily shut down by burst damage. The Core Synergy: I prioritize War Axe and Brute Force Breastplate as the foundation. Together, they provide the necessary Cooldown Reduction, HP, and stacking Movement Speed that Aulus needs to stay mobile and deadly in long fight. Late-Game Dominance: By combining the penetration from Malefic Roar with his Level 12 ultimate upgrade, Aulus becomes unstoppable against tanks. Immortality is the final piece, ensuring that even if the enemy focuses everything on you, you can resurrect and finish the base push
Custom Fighter Emblem
I have selected the Custom Fighter Emblem specifically for the Spell Vamp and Physical Attack it provides. This ensures Aulus has the durability to survive early-game jungle invades and the sustain to stay in team fights during the late game. The talent combination is designed to maximize his farming speed and mobility: Rupture is chosen for the extra Physical Penetration, which helps Aulus deal meaningful damage before he reaches his level 12 power spike. Seasoned Hunter is non-negotiable for a 'Hyper' Aulus. It allows him to secure Turtles and the Lord much faster, ensuring the team gains a gold lead. Quantum Charge is the most important talent here. Because Aulus relies on basic attacks, the 40% movement speed boost from this talent solves his biggest weakness: being kited. It allows him to 'stick' to targets and continuously land his enhanced basic attacks, while the HP recovery provides extra sustain during critical 1v1 duels."
Battle Spell
Retribution (Ice Retribution): As a Hyper carry, Retribution is essential for securing buffs and objectives like the Turtle and Lord. I recommend choosing the Ice Retribution upgrade. This allows you to steal movement speed from enemy heroes, which is crucial for Aulus to stay close to targets and land his heavy hammer strikes during a chase.
Level 12: The Ascended Hammer God
LIKE TO WIN FREE 500 Diamond Premium Award The "Pre-Stack" Secret (Passive Management): Before jumping into a team fight or ganking a lane, always hit a nearby jungle creep or minion to get your Fighting Spirit stacks to the maximum (4 stacks). Starting a fight with max stacks means you immediately have bonus Physical Attack, Penetration, and Movement Speed, giving you a massive advantage over an enemy who has to wait for their skills to cool down.
Best With Atlas
These tanks can pull the entire enemy team into one spot. This allows Aulus to drop his Ultimate on everyone at once and shred them with his Skill 2 AOE (Area of Effect) damage.
Watch Out For Franco
Their Suppression ultimates are the only thing that can stop Aulus when he is using his Skill 1 (Charge). They can lock him down before he builds his passive stacks.
