Overview
Aulus is a Fighter hero known for high sustained damage, mobility, and crowd control. After the revamp, his skills have better synergy, wider range, and clearer mechanics. He excels at chasing enemies, surviving prolonged fights, and dealing massive AoE damage. He is usually played as a Jungler or EXP Laner. His farming route focuses on clearing jungle camps quickly, securing buffs, and rotating to gank lanes or objectives.
Strengths
✅ High Sustain: Skill 2 provides strong Physical Lifesteal, allowing him to stay on the map longer without recalling. ✅ Great Mobility: Skill 1 grants movement speed and CC immunity, while Skill 2 can be reactivated to dash forward. ✅ AoE Damage & Control: Max passive stacks make basic attacks hit multiple enemies, and Ultimate creates a zone that slows and deals huge damage. ✅ Strong Scaling: Becomes very powerful in the mid to late game, especially after getting core items like War Axe and Blade of Despair. ✅ Objective Secure: Ultimate is perfect for securing Turtle and Lord due to its high damage and slow effect.
Weaknesses
⚠ Weak Early Game: Vulnerable to invasion and pressure before level 4 or getting his first item. ⚠ Vulnerable to Kiting: Ranged heroes and high-mobility enemies can easily avoid his attacks. ⚠ Stack Dependent: Damage is significantly lower if passive stacks are not maintained. ⚠ Mana Hungry: Needs to manage mana carefully, especially when spamming skills to farm or clear waves.
Damage item
War Axe This is your most important item. It gives stacking Physical Attack, Cooldown Reduction, and True Damage. As you fight longer, you get stronger. It perfectly fits Aulus's playstyle of sustained combat and continuous damage. Tough Boots / Warrior Boots Choose Tough Boots if the enemy has a lot of Magic Damage or Crowd Control (stuns/slows) to reduce their effect. Choose Warrior Boots if the enemy has strong Physical Damage dealers to reduce the damage you take. Brute Force Breastplate Every time you use a skill, you gain extra Attack, Movement Speed, and Defense. This makes you faster, harder to kill, and increases your damage output all at the same time. It is perfect for Aulus who uses skills often. Rose Gold Meteor Provides both Magic and Physical Defense. Most importantly, it gives you a shield when your HP is low. This saves you from sudden burst damage and allows you to survive and fight back. Queens Wings When your HP drops below 40%, this item reduces the damage you take and greatly increases your Lifesteal. Combined with Aulus's natural sustain, it makes you almost unkillable in close fights. Malefic Roar In the late game, enemies will build armor. This item gives high Physical Penetration, allowing you to ignore their defense and still deal massive damage, even to tanks.
Fighter emblem
Quantum Charge This is the most important talent for Aulus. Since he relies heavily on Basic Attacks, getting extra Movement Speed after every hit makes it extremely easy to chase enemies, stick to them, and avoid being kited. It helps you close gaps quickly and reposition smoothly during team fights. Rupture This talent gives extra Adaptive Penetration. It allows Aulus to deal significant damage even to tanky enemies or those who build armor. It ensures your attacks hurt from the early game all the way to the late game. Seasoned Hunter - Seasoned Hunter is best if you are Jungling. It increases damage to monsters and objectives, helping you farm faster and secure Turtle/Lord easily.
Battle Spell
Best for Junglers. Increases farming speed, helps secure Turtle/Lord easily, and allows you to steal enemy buffs. Upgrade to Ice Retribution to slow enemies and make chases easier. Use it on low-HP objectives to guarantee secure, or on heroes to reduce their damage and movement speed.
Late game dominance
Tips and Tricks Skill 1 Strategy: Use Aulus, Charge! to build Fighting Spirit stacks while moving. If you avoid hard CC for the first 2 seconds of the charge, you gain Control Immunity for the remainder of the duration, making it a powerful tool for diving the backline. Mobility & Pursuit: Hit enemies with the first cast of The Power of Axe (Skill 2) to unlock a second cast—a forward dash. This dash can be used to reposition, chase fleeing targets, or even jump through thin walls. Ultimate Execution: Save Cleaving Axe for team fights once your passive is fully stacked. The revamped ultimate deals multiple strikes of AoE damage, with a final high-damage slash. Each hit also helps maintain your Fighting Spirit stacks. Combat Flow: Prioritize reaching full stacks (6 stacks) to unlock Enhanced Basic Attacks. These attacks deal extra damage in a line based on the target's Max HP, making Aulus extremely lethal against both squishy heroes and tanks in the late game
Best With Hylos
Hylos: One of his best partners. Hylos slowing aura and "Path of Glory" help Aulus bypass frontliners and stick to targets.
Watch Out For Valir
Valir: His constant knockbacks and slows make it extremely difficult for Aulus to stay in range to deal damage.
