Overview

Aulus is a fierce Leonin warrior who wields a powerful battle axe and fights with unstoppable ferocity on the battlefield. After revamp Aulus can now deal massive AOE damage, gain control immunity and chase or burst heroes with low mobility. He can be used in jungle or in exp lane. Passive: Fighting Spirit -> After dealing damage, Aulus adds a stack of Fighting Spirit to his axe per second for 4s and each stack grants attack speed. At max Fighting Spirit stacks, Aulus's Basic Attack is enhanced and gains Attack Range. During enhanced basic attack, Aulus slams his axe into the ground, dealing physical damage to enemies in a line. Skill 1: Aulus, Charge! -> Aulus starts accumulating Fighting Spirit, removes all slow effects, and gains extra Movement Speed for 5s.If Aulus does not take high-level control effects within 2s, he will enter the enraged state and gain control immunity. Skill 2: The Power of Axe -> Aulus swings his axe, dealing physical damage to enemies in a fan-shaped area and slowing them for 2s.Upon hitting an enemy, Aulus can cast this skill again to dash forward and smash the ground, dealing physical damage to nearby enemies. Skill 3: Cleaving Axe -> Aulus repeatedly swings his axe at nearby enemies, dealing physical damage each time. After 4 strikes, Aulus briefly charges before unleashing a wider slash, dealing physical damage to enemies in a large area.During this skill, Aulus gains 20% Damage Reduction and a short burst of Movement Speed with each slash.

Strengths

1. Massive AOE damage: After the revamp, Aulus can deal damage to multiple enemies at the same time, which makes him much more effective in teamfights. 2. Control immunity: Aulus has built in control immunity effects in his kit, which allows him to keep attacking even when enemies try to crowd control him. 3. Much Better Mobility: The revamp adds more mobility tools, letting him chase enemies or reposition in fights. 4. Better Engage and Chase Ability: After revamp, Aulus now has control immunity and better mobility than before which allows him to engage and burst heroes with low mobility. 5. Damage reduction: Aulus has built in damage reduction in his kit which allows him to sustain longer team fights and deal massive AOE damage to opponents.

Weaknesses

1. Weak early game: Aulus is very weak in early game which makes it very easy for enemies to invade or bully him. 2. Item-Dependent Hero: He needs several core items to become strong. If he falls behind in gold or farming, he becomes much less effective in fights. 3. Needs Close Range: Most of his damage requires him to stay near enemies for a long time. If enemies keep distance or poke from range, he has difficulty reaching them. 4. Struggles Against Heavy Crowd Control: Although he has control immunity in his kit, he struggles against heroes with heavy crowd control skills like suppression. So those heroes can easily shut him down on team fights. 5. Vulnerable to Burst Damage: Assassins or mages that deal high burst damage can kill him before he stacks his passive.

Sustained damage with survivability build

1. Ice Hunter Tough Boots for CC and slow reduction. 2. Since War Axe stacking effect is easily triggered with Aulus first skill, its his core item. It allows him to deal continuous damage to his opponents. 3. Brute Force Breastplate is his another core item as it also features stacking effect which perfectly fits Aulus sustained damage play style. 4. Rose Gold Meteor synergies perfectly with Aulus passive, allowing more enhanced basic attacks. Furthermore the shield helps in increasing the chances of survivability. 5. Malefic Roar for penetration against defensive items like Antique cuirass and additional damage. 6. Queens wings for additional survivability and spell vamp.

Fighter Emlem

1. Fighter Emlbem for spell vamp and adaptive attack. 2. Thrill for additional adaptive attack. 3. Seasoned Hunter for faster jungling speed. 4. War Cry for consistent damage in extended fights.

Battle Spell

1. Retribution helps to clear jungle creeps and monsters faster. 2. It also helps to secure neutral objectives like turtles and lords.

Gameplay Tips

1. Early game (Level 1-4): Clear your jungle creeps and monsters and try to reach level 4 as soon as possible. Do not take unnecessary or risky fights. 2. Mid game (Level 4-12): Use his first skill to gain movement speed then use his second skill to slow enemies down the use his second skill again to stay on target then use his ultimate skill to burst enemies down then keep using his enhanced basic attacks. 3. Late game (Level 12 and above): Focus on securing neutral objectives like turtles and lords. Focus on taking down enemies carry heroes like mage and marksman.

Best With Angela

Since Aulus lacks sustained healing and lifesteal on his own, Angela provides him with backup that he needs to last longer on team fights and deal massive AOE damage.

Watch Out For Hanabi

Aulus can counter heroes with low mobility very well. Hanabi cannot deal with massive damage of Aulus as she does not have instant burst damage to prevent him from dealing constant damage.
