Marcel & Clemar - stopping them in tracks!

Overview

Marcel is representing the artistic part of House Paxley, using his camera-shaped partner to bring unpredictable results of "still moment". Marcel is support hero of S40.

Strengths

a) Usually you can dive into teamfight and run away with 2nd skill b) Powerful Ultimate that doesn't stop him from the action c) Item Build is pretty straightforward - Thunder Belt is a must d) Strong passive that will disrupt enemy heroes

Weaknesses

a) If you think of Marcel as Tank - do not, he is very squishy. b) Works better with heroes that have skillshots or AOE, than plain attack speed heroes focused on basic attacks c) Ultimate can change tide of the battle - sometimes bringing your team to disadvantage.

Team Buff & More Durability

As we are focusing on movement speed, we choose Rapid Boots and Conceal buff. Thunder Belt is core item, as it will enlarge our DMG significantly due to defense scaling of 1st skill and passive. Dominance Ice mainly is our anti-heal here while also adding both defense stats - similarly to Oracle. All that defense must meet with high HP boost - Guardian Helmet is best choice. Last item is situational and you can go with: Immortality - for second chance. Athena's Shield - if enemy team has most Magic damage of burst type. Chastise Pauldron - if enemy team mostly hurts your team with their basic attack.

Full Tankiness Build

This time we are trying to counter enemies' CC. More tailored for enemies that have burst-type DMG.

Swiftness & Tankiness

You may want to replace first emblem item with more Defense or HP, depending on your playstyle. I recommend more movement speed, to ensure you can "catch up" with enemies, especially having movement boost from 2nd skill.

Battle Spell

Marcel does not have healing. Marcel have shield that is triggered via passive, which requires close contact with enemies. Revitalize compensates low durability of Marcel and allows swift roaming between lanes, even if they were hurt during gank. It also allows to support teammates with extra heal during lane fights. Note: This will heal allies, even if they are under influence of Marcel's Ultimate ability.

Early Game

Start with skill 1 and go help jungler till they get Lv4 or first turtle. If you spot occasion to help anyone else, go for it. Once you have Skill 2 unlocked, together with your movement skill, you can distract enemies (from ganks or killing creeps). You also will be able to quickly rotate the lanes. Getting more than 1 enemy hero to be hit by skill 1 is crucial for early advantage.

Mid Game

Don't get cocky and do not dive towers. Keep showing enemy positions to your best ability. You get more usage if you fight with multiple enemies, however targetting single target may also be viable depending on enemy line up.

Late Game

When teamfights will start to occur you are good initiator. However, remember not to rush to use your ultimate - it's powerful mechanism, but very tricky to land it right. Make sure that once it's casted, it will put enemy to disadvantage: a) your teammates will be able to catch up with your position b) you will disable some enemies from teamfight happening nearby c) protect your teammate from getting certain death Optimal use of ultiamte is after you jump into enemy line and activate passive, After that, you can trigger it 2nd time. However, do not be obsessed with optimization, as it may cause you to keep Ultimate for later, but sometimes you cannot do much when "later" comes. Once you disrupted enemies, you should either: a) try to run after fleeing single enemy with your teammate or b) if you were hurt, escape, so you can heal again and get back to fight after short while

Best With Lylia

Lylia's AOE can target enemies easier after Marcel's passive freezes enemy in spot.

Watch Out For Melissa

Ultimate is nice setup for Melissa's burst setup with their voodoo doll
