Overview
Selena is an assassin/mage hybrid who excels at early-game dominance and map control. She uses two forms—Elven and Abyssal—to switch between long-range poking and close-range burst damage. In the early game, Selena is commonly played as a roamer or mid-laner, placing Abyssal Traps to provide vision and control key areas like jungle entrances and objectives. Her gameplay revolves around landing her Abyssal Arrow to stun enemies from long distance, then quickly switching to Abyssal form to finish them off with a burst combo. Instead of traditional farming, Selena focuses on roaming, setting up ambushes, and helping teammates secure kills. She is best at picking off isolated targets and disrupting enemy rotations.
Strengths
Selena excels in early-game pressure with strong pick-off potential, long-range crowd control, and high burst damage. She also provides excellent map vision through traps and can quickly engage or escape using her mobility.
Weaknesses
Selena is highly skill-dependent, requiring precise aim to land her Abyssal Arrow. Missing her stun significantly reduces her impact in fights. She is also very squishy, making her vulnerable to crowd control and burst damage if caught. In the late game, Selena becomes less effective, especially against tanky enemies who can survive her combo. She also lacks sustained damage and relies heavily on successful pick-offs. Poor timing, positioning, or map awareness can make her ineffective and a liability to the team.
Cd burst
This build focuses on cooldown reduction and burst damage, allowing Selena to use her skills more frequently and deal high damage in a short time. Magic Boots and Enchanted Talisman provide cooldown reduction and mana sustain, letting her spam skills. Lightning Truncheon increases burst damage, especially when hitting multiple enemies. Divine Glaive helps penetrate enemy magic defense, making her effective against tanky heroes. Holy Crystal greatly boosts her overall magic power, while Blood Wings adds both high damage and extra survivability. This build is ideal for maximizing Selena burst combo and maintaining pressure throughout the game.
Burst support
I chose this emblem set because it has a faster cooldown and because it deals more damage, it can poke enemies, so you can get an early win.
Battle Spell
Flicker because it enhances Selena's mobility, letting her quickly reposition during fights. Since she is quite fragile, Flicker helps her escape risky situations or chase enemies after landing a stun. It also adds more flexibility to her playstyle, making her safer and harder to predict.
Early Game: Level 2 Predator
Tips and Tricks: Level 2 Spike: Selena is deadliest at Level 2. Hit an arrow, then use the Abyssal Trap + Soul Eater + Garotte combo for an easy First Blood. Hidden Arrows: Fire your arrows from behind walls or from within bushes to reduce the enemy's reaction time. Roaming: After clearing the first wave, immediately roam to the gold lane to pressure the enemy Marksman.
Best With Atlas
Atlas provides the ultimate setup with Fatal Links, pulling multiple enemies into a single spot. This makes it impossible for them to dodge Selena Abyssal Arrow, allowing her to land guaranteed multi-hero stuns and follow up with her full burst combo.
Watch Out For Saber
Selena is extremely fragile once she misses her arrow. Saber can bypass her traps and use Triple Sweep to instantly suppress and delete her before she can switch forms or dash away. He is her biggest threat during rotations.
