Overview
Gatotkaca is a highly versatile roaming hero suitable for most draft situations. He is particularly effective against assassins and fighters, and excels at bush control and surprise pick-offs.
Strengths
Gatotkaca is particularly strong against physical damage oriented heroes. His passive grants increasing Physical Defense as his HP decreases, making him exceptionally hard to take down during extended team fights.
Weaknesses
Gatotkaca struggles against magic burst and true damage. While magic damage can be addressed through proper Magic Defense itemization, true damage is significantly harder for him to handle. Therefore, banning high true-damage heroes like Karrie and Lesley is advisable when drafting Gatotkaca.
Anti Attack Speed & Sustain Setup
This setup is recommended against attack speed-based heroes with strong lifesteal and tanks that have high sustain or regeneration
Anti - True Damage
This setup is recommended when facing true damage heroes.
FRONTLINE
For emblems, Gatotkaca should use the full Tank emblem setup. However, the first talent slot can be adjusted: Firmness is recommended if the enemy team does not deal true damage, while Agility can be taken if the enemy lineup has high mobility or fast movement speed.
Battle Spell
Using the Revitalize battle spell is highly effective for long, extended team fights, as it provides strong area healing that can also support teammates. An alternative option is Vengeance, but this changes Gatotkaca's playstyle. When using Vengeance, the gameplay focuses more on directly targeting the enemy backline. However, Vengeance can be easily countered through kiting, since enemies can simply keep their distance and avoid attacking Gatotkaca while the spell is active. As a result, Vengeance is generally less effective than Revitalize for Gatotkaca.
Early Game
Control bushes, protect mid and jungle cores, and use Skill 2 to punish early dives or force enemy Flickers.
Mid Game
Play as a counter-engage roamer by controlling vision, punishing enemy mispositioning, and following up team initiations with well-timed ultimates.
Late Game
Act as a frontline anchor by absorbing damage, peeling for your backline, and controlling space during decisive team fights.
Best With Cici
100% co-op win rate
Cici's ultimate binds two enemies, allowing Gatotkaca to reliably follow up with his ultimate, significantly increasing its hit consistency.
Watch Out For Layla
100% counter win rate
Gatotkaca can counter Layla easily because Layla has no mobility and relies entirely on positioning and range to deal damage. Gatotkaca can approach through bush control and directly lock her down with Skill 2, preventing her from repositioning or kiting. In addition, Layla's damage is primarily physical, which is heavily mitigated by Gatotkaca's passive that increases Physical Defense as his HP drops. Once Gatotkaca reaches her with his ultimate or crowd control, Layla has very limited counterplay and is often forced to use Flicker or gets eliminated immediately
