Overview
Yu Zhong, the Black Dragon, is a dominant fighter who excels in diving deep into the enemy backline. As a powerful Initiator, he forces enemies to scatter or face the wrath of his dragon form. His unique mechanics revolve around his passive, Cursing Touch, which allows him to sustain himself in the middle of chaotic team fights while dealing massive Burst damage. He is typically played in the EXP Lane, where he can bully most opponents and rotate quickly to help the team.
Strengths
High Sustainability: His passive allows him to recover HP while dealing damage, making him incredibly hard to kill in 1v1 or team fights. Backline Menace: With his Ultimate (Black Dragon Form), he can easily bypass tanks and target the enemy's Marksman or Mage. Crowd Control & Mobility: He possesses multiple CC skills to disrupt enemy formations and a reliable dash to chase down fleeing targets. Strong Early to Mid Game: Yu Zhong can dominate his lane early on, creating a huge advantage for the team before the late game starts.
Weaknesses
Weak to Hard CC: While in human form, he is vulnerable to "Suppress" or heavy crowd control which can prevent him from triggering his passive. High Skill Cap: Managing his Sha Essence and timing his transformations requires good mechanical skill and game sense. Reliant on Ultimate: Without his Black Dragon Form, he loses a significant amount of his initiation power and safety.
damage and sustainability
With this build, you have enough damage to be a threat while remaining incredibly difficult to kill thanks to the synergy between Oracle, War Axe, and your passive.
For Sustainability
This setup prioritizes Adaptive Attack to win the lane early, while the combination of Spell Vamp and HP restoration ensures that the "Black Dragon" remains an unkillable force in team fights.
Battle Spell
Petrify is the ideal Battle Spell for Yu Zhong to maximize his combo potential and crowd control. Since Yu Zhong needs to stay close to enemies to trigger his passive, Cursing Touch, Petrify helps lock them in place, ensuring his skills land accurately.
Laning Aggression
Strategy: Focus on poking the enemy with your 1st skill (Dragon Tail) while they try to last-hit minions. Pro Tip: Try to trigger your passive (Cursing Touch) as much as possible. Once the Sha Essence erupts, you will gain a massive HP lead, allowing you to force the enemy out of the lane or even secure an early kill. Precaution: Be careful of early ganks from the enemy Jungler before you reach level 4. Keep an eye on the map.
Objective Disruption & Roaming
Strategy: Once you have your Ultimate, start rotating to the mid lane or turtle fights. Your primary goal is to use Black Dragon Form to zone out the enemy Jungler during objective contests. Combo: Use your Ultimate to fly behind the enemy, transform back into Dragonoid form, and use Petrify to lock down the core carries (Mage/Marksman). Objective: Push your lane first before roaming to ensure your turret stays safe.
The Ultimate Initiator
Strategy: In the late game, you are the team's primary initiator. Do not show yourself on the map too early; wait for the enemy to gather, then dive from the flank using your Ultimate. Targeting: Always prioritize the enemy's backline. Even if you don't get the kill, forcing the Marksman to retreat wins the team fight for your side. Sustainability: Trust your Queen's Wings and Oracle combo. Even at low HP, your passive can turn the tide of a fight instantly.
Best With Tigreal
100% co-op win rate
Perfect CC Chain: When Tigreal uses his Ultimate (Implosion) to pull and stun multiple enemies, it creates the perfect opening for Yu Zhong to dive in and land his full skill combo without missing.
Watch Out For Phoveus
80% counter win rate
Difficulty in Laning: In the EXP Lane, Yu Zhong must be very careful with his skill placement. If he uses his dash skills recklessly, Phoveus will constantly stick to him, making it hard for Yu Zhong to escape or win a trade.
