Overview

Sora is the 131st hero added to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, introduced with the Cloudrise Patch on December 18, 2025. Sora, known as the Shifting Cloud, is a mystical warrior who wields the power of clouds and storms. According to his lore, Sora drew upon the energy of a Twilight Orb and became one with the clouds, harnessing their fluidity and force to protect and guide others through trials. Release Date: December 18, 2025 Role: Fighter / Assassin Passive - Mystic Surge Sora gains Cloudstep stacks when he deals damage to enemy heroes or summons. Upon reaching 5 stacks, he can use his ultimate to ascend into Thunder Form (assassin) or Torrent Form (tank/bruiser). Skill 1 - Sundering Strike Base Form: Sora strikes twice with physical damage then lunges forward for additional damage based on his HP. Thunder Form - Thunderflash: Sora delivers four rapid strikes with enhanced mobility, then lunges to finish. Torrent Form - Overwhelm: Sora strikes twice with slow and additional crowd control, then lunges to stun briefly. Skill 2 - Windstride Base Form: Sora leaps forward, hits the ground to deal physical damage and slow enemies. Thunder Form - Thunder Rush: Sora leaps, summons a thunderstorm that deals area damage and slows enemies harder, with cooldown reduction on hit. Torrent Form - Skyfall: Sora's leap knocks enemies back to his landing point and then airborne on ground impact, with cooldown reduction on hero hit. Ultimate - Shifting Skies Activate: If Sora has 5 Cloudstep stacks, swiping left ascends him into Thunder Form with bonus movement speed and untargetability before landing damage. Swiping right ascends into Torrent Form, pulling in enemies and dealing damage. Thunder Form - Heaven's Wrath: Sora leaps and repeatedly strikes a target area many times with enhanced physical damage and mobility. Torrent Form - Stormbind: Sora leaps and repeatedly hits an area, dealing HP scaled damage, applying slow effects, and offering crowd control utility.

Strengths

- High adaptability through form switching Sora can shift between Thunder Form and Torrent Form, allowing him to adapt instantly to different combat situations. This makes him effective both as a burst damage dealer and as a disruptive frontline bruiser. - Strong laning pressure in EXP lane Sora performs well in the EXP lane due to his reliable skill damage and mobility. His ability to trade efficiently, disengage when needed, and re engage after stacking Mystic Surge allows him to pressure most melee heroes. He can safely contest lane control while preparing for early skirmishes near objectives. - Powerful mid game spike Once Sora unlocks consistent access to Shifting Skies, his mid game becomes extremely threatening. He can rotate faster than most fighters, punish isolated targets, and contribute heavily to Turtle and tower fights. This timing window allows him to snowball leads if played aggressively but smartly. - Strong team fight presence In coordinated fights, Sora excels at disrupting enemy formations. Torrent Form offers crowd control and durability that helps peel or initiate, while Thunder Form allows quick access to enemy backlines. This dual threat forces enemies to constantly reposition, giving Sora team wide impact beyond raw damage. - Excellent mobility and repositioning tools Windstride and his form enhanced skills give Sora multiple movement options. This makes him difficult to lock down and allows him to chase or escape efficiently. - Scales well with both offense and durability Sora benefits from balanced builds that mix damage and survivability. His form conversions allow him to gain value from both physical attack and maximum HP, making him flexible in itemization depending on matchups and team needs. - Strong synergy with coordinated teams Sora performs best when paired with allies that can provide vision, crowd control, or follow up damage.

Weaknesses

- High Skill Requirement Sora demands strong mechanical control and decision-making. Misusing his transformation or choosing the wrong form at the wrong time can severely reduce his impact in fights. - Dependent on Passive Stacks His power spikes rely heavily on building Cloudstep stacks. If Sora is denied fights or forced to play passively, his effectiveness drops significantly compared to heroes with immediate impact. - Vulnerable to Hard Crowd Control Despite his mobility, Sora struggles against heroes with reliable suppression, stun chains, or instant lockdown. Being crowd controlled before activating his ultimate often leads to quick elimination. - Timing Sensitive Ultimate Shifting Skies requires precise timing and situational awareness. Activating it too early or too late can waste its potential and leave Sora exposed during critical moments. - Limited Ranged Threat Sora excels in close-range combat but lacks tools to pressure enemies from afar. Against heavy poke or zoning compositions, he may struggle to find safe engagement windows. - Risky Playstyle in Late Game As the game progresses, mistakes become more punishing. A failed dive or incorrect form choice in the late game can quickly turn fights and cost major objectives or the match.

SORA ITEM

馃О Equipment Build for Sora War Axe This item is core for Sora because it enhances sustained damage during extended fights. The stacking Physical Attack and penetration perfectly match Sora aggressive playstyle, allowing him to scale harder the longer he stays in combat. Movement speed from stacks also helps him reposition after skill usage. Hunter Strike Hunter Strike provides early burst potential and cooldown reduction, letting Sora cycle his skills faster to build passive stacks efficiently. The movement speed boost after hitting enemies helps him chase targets or disengage after committing. Blade of Despair This item massively increases Sora damage output, especially when enemies fall below half health. Since Sora excels at finishing targets after transforming forms, Blade of Despair amplifies his kill pressure in skirmishes and team fights. Malefic Roar Malefic Roar is essential against tanky opponents. The high armor penetration ensures Sora damage remains effective even in the late game, especially when enemies start building defensive items. Queen's Wings Queen's Wings greatly improves Sora survivability during critical moments. The damage reduction and lifesteal bonus allow him to stay alive while diving deep in team fights, particularly when using Torrent Form. Immortality Immortality provides a safety net for aggressive engagements. The revive mechanic allows Sora to commit fully during crucial fights, forcing enemies to waste resources while he prepares for a second round of engagement. This build focuses on sustained damage, mobility, and survivability, allowing Sora to adapt between assassin style bursts and bruiser style frontline pressure depending on the situation.

SORA EMBLEM

Emblem Set: Assassin Emblem (Recommended) Core Focus: Burst damage, armor penetration, and sustained pressure during extended skirmishes. The Assassin Emblem fits Sora perfectly due to his Fighter Assassin hybrid nature and his reliance on quick engagements after stacking Mystic Surge. This emblem enhances his ability to secure kills during ascended forms while maintaining threat throughout the game. Tier 1: Rupture Rupture provides physical penetration, allowing Sora to deal more consistent damage against enemies with early armor. This is especially important since Sora frequently engages EXP lane fighters and frontliners while stacking his passive. Tier 2: Weapon Master Weapon Master increases the effectiveness of physical attack gained from items, emblems, and skills. Since Sora converts stats differently depending on his ascended form, this talent amplifies both his Thunder Form burst potential and Torrent Form bruiser damage, making every item spike more impactful. Tier 3: War Cry War Cry synergizes extremely well with Sora's multi-hit skill patterns. After dealing consecutive damage, Sora gains bonus damage, which activates quickly due to Sundering Strike and Windstride combos. This talent greatly boosts his mid to late game skirmishing power, especially in prolonged fights where he can fully utilize his form-based playstyle. Why this Emblem Works for Sora This setup enhances Sora's identity as a stack-based engager who thrives after committing to fights. It improves his damage consistency, rewards aggressive play, and scales well into late game where proper form usage becomes decisive.

Battle Spell

Battle Spell: Flicker Flicker is the most reliable and versatile battle spell for Sora due to his form-switching and high-commitment playstyle. Sora relies heavily on precise positioning to fully utilize Shifting Skies, whether he enters Thunder Form for assassination or Torrent Form for disruption and control. Flicker provides instant repositioning that covers Sora's biggest weakness, which is being punished during or after engagement. Offensively, Flicker allows Sora to close unexpected gaps and instantly reach backline heroes such as marksmen or mages. Combining Flicker with his leap and dash skills enables sudden engages that are difficult to react to, especially when activating Thunder Form for burst damage. This makes Sora far more threatening in skirmishes and team fights, as enemies have less time to reposition or counter his entry. Defensively, Flicker gives Sora a crucial escape option after committing to fights. Since Sora often dives deep to stack his passive and trigger form ascension, Flicker helps him disengage when skills are on cooldown or when enemy reinforcements arrive. This greatly improves his survivability during mid to late game clashes where crowd control and burst damage are more punishing. Overall, Flicker enhances Sora's mobility, unpredictability, and decision making, allowing him to engage, disengage, and reposition based on battlefield conditions. It perfectly complements his adaptive kit and ensures he remains effective in both aggressive plays and high-risk situations.

QUICK TIPS

馃 Quick Tips for Sora Always build Cloudstep stacks before forcing fights. Sora is significantly weaker without access to Shifting Skies, so prioritize short trades, jungle camps, or skirmishes to reach 5 stacks safely. Decide your form before engaging, not during chaos. Thunder Form is best when enemy backliners are exposed, while Torrent Form should be chosen when your team needs initiation or crowd control. Use Windstride carefully as both an engage and disengage tool. Burning it too early leaves Sora vulnerable to counter attacks and crowd control. In Thunder Form, avoid prolonged fights. Focus on quick bursts and repositioning, then disengage once skills are on cooldown. In Torrent Form, position yourself slightly ahead of your carries. Your crowd control and durability are meant to disrupt enemies and absorb pressure, not chase kills. Track enemy crowd control skills. Sora relies heavily on mobility, and mistiming an entry against stuns or suppressions often leads to instant death. During objectives like Turtle or Lord, stack passive first before committing. Entering the fight with transformation ready gives Sora a massive advantage in zone control and damage.

STRATEGY

Early Game Sora should focus on consistent trading and stack generation during the early phase. Prioritize clearing your lane safely while poking the enemy to build Cloudstep stacks as early as possible. Avoid reckless all-ins before unlocking Shifting Skies, since Sora relies heavily on his form transformation to maximize impact. Use Windstride to reposition, escape ganks, or secure favorable short trades. At this stage, your main goals are lane control, stack management, and survival, rather than forcing kills. Mid Game Once Shifting Skies becomes available, Sora enters his strongest tempo window. Begin rotating toward skirmishes around Turtle and side lanes. Choose your form wisely depending on the situation. Thunder Form is ideal for picking off squishy targets, chasing low-health enemies, and snowballing fights, while Torrent Form is better for frontline engagements, zoning enemies, and absorbing pressure. During mid game clashes, look for flanks rather than direct engagements, allowing you to enter fights after key enemy skills are used. Late Game In the late game, Sora must play with discipline and precision. Enemy damage and crowd control are significantly higher, so mistimed engagements can be fatal. Focus on form selection before fights and avoid wasting your ultimate on low-impact targets. Thunder Form should be reserved for eliminating priority backliners, while Torrent Form excels at disrupting team formations and protecting allies. Positioning becomes crucial, as Sora thrives when entering fights at the right moment rather than initiating blindly. Proper timing and form usage can decide the outcome of decisive team fights.

Best With Tigreal

100% co-op win rate

Tigreal is an excellent compatibility hero for Sora because he provides reliable, large-scale crowd control that perfectly sets up Sora's form-based damage. With skills like Implosion and Sacred Hammer, Tigreal can group enemies tightly in one area, allowing Sora to activate Shifting Skies at the right moment and fully capitalize on his area damage potential. This synergy is especially strong when Sora enters Torrent Form, as Tigreal's initiation gives Sora enough time and space to disrupt multiple enemies, apply crowd control, and sustain through prolonged fights. Tigreal also absorbs most of the enemy's initial damage, letting Sora focus on positioning, stacking Mystic Surge, and choosing the best form without being instantly pressured.

Watch Out For Chou

20% counter win rate

Chou is one of Sora's most effective counters because his kit punishes dive-heavy heroes. Sora relies on stacking Cloudstep and transforming into Thunder or Torrent form to maximize his damage and crowd control. Chou's Jeet Kune Do knock-up and The Way of Dragon ultimate can isolate Sora from his team, interrupting his combos and preventing him from reaching priority targets. Chou's high mobility also allows him to kite Sora, forcing the hero to overextend or waste his form transformations prematurely. In teamfights, a well-timed Chou can completely neutralize Sora's burst and disruption potential, making aggressive plays risky.
