Overview
Argus, considered one of the WORST heroes in MLBB and rightfully so, Immortality means nothing if the enemy simply doesn't let you do anything with it. This guide will hopefully be able to help you understand the foundation of decision making with Argus.
Strengths
Argus' main strength comes from his ult's immortality and stun purify. Argus is strong when it comes to 1v1s, risky plays (as if playing him wasn't risk enough), and his ability to choose fights.
Weaknesses
Argus is incomparably weak to any other hero, sometimes even detrimental to the team with insane sustain existences like Yu Zhong who can heal off of you for free. Argus also has immense trouble when faced off against high mobility heroes, immortality doesn't help you run faster after all.
Critana
NOTE: ONCE YOU HAVE THE FULL BUILD REPLACE WINDTALKER WITH CORROSION SCYTHE AND SWIFT BOOTS WITH A HIGH DAMAGE ITEM LIKE BLADE OF DESPAIR OR HUNTER STRIKE This build primarily focuses on bursting down key figures in the enemy lineup, grappling onto them with S1 and bursting them down with 2 enhanced basic attacks using skill 2.
Attack Speed
What else can be said about it? It's old reliable, tank melter and a presence that makes enemies save one mobility skill, although I doubt you'd be able to perform kills before the enemies could react.
Crit
This emblem setup focuses on bursting down enemies with crit builds. I highly recommend this emblem setup as it helps burst down, or at the very least weaken major players on the enemy team, such as the Jungler, Marksman, or Mage
Attack Speed
This emblem setup is built towards the attack speed and chase Argus playstyle, while it doesn't differ much from dive in and die, it is harder to burst down with this and usually leaves the enemy you caught with S1 on a sliver of health.
Battle Spell
Inspire is honestly the best battle spell for Argus. Argus is essentially an all or nothing hero, the moment you dive in or commit to an enemy, you will essentially die if you chicken out halfway through. That's why inspire is a very good spell, it lets you kill faster and slightly delay using his ult (more on that later). As opposed to Flicker which is basically a chase or escape to Argus, likely the former, Inspire fully embraces his dive in, kill the enemy, die playstyle.
Mid Game
Contrary to popular belief, late game Argus isn't the only thing that's useful, mid game Argus however is very different from late game Argus. Mid game Argus doesn't focus on teamfights, he focuses on being a constant presence the enemy has to watch out for. You play him sneakily, minimizing your time spent on the enemy's minimap, picking off the marksman or mage, the core if possible but they'll be playing extra cautious to score objectives, and if you can or the enemy is in the middle of their rotation, start pushing like all hell, this guarantees the enemy becomes more wary of the minimal, trying to locate your presence and hopefully diverting their attention to you rather than your team.
Late Game
His gameplay shifts drastically, you now the one that decides when a teamfight can be won easily or elbow grease is gonna have to be put on. Your goal is to dive into enemies far away from base, even if there are 5 of them, and cause as much destruction as possible before dying. Get them to use mobility skills, ults, battle spells, everything, do these the few moments before an objective starts. Exhaust the enemies and if you can get a kill or two, even better. Constantly pressure lanes by rotation from top to bottom and vice versa by split pushing, divide the enemies attention and ascertain that the moment they reach your team, they are heavily unprepared.
Best With Diggie
80% co-op win rate
Cc is the death of an Argus main, the moment your locked down, that's 1 second wasted of Ult, 1 second worth of damage gone, and 1 enemy healthbar that hasn't been depleted yet. Diggie synergizes way too well with way too many heroes, Argus doesn't have anything special to offer, but Diggie is such a clutch up for those cc heavy enemy lineups.
Watch Out For Yu Zhong
20% counter win rate
Yu Zhong is simply too tanky, and too sustain heavy. Argus simply stands no chance against a Yu Zhong player who has more than a few braincells.
