Overview
The Revamped Freya, the Valkyrie, has undergone a significant transformation, moving from a pure burst/attack speed fighter to a highly mobile, team-fight-oriented Valkyrie General who specializes in area control and sustained damage. Revamped Skills Overview: Passive: Power of Einherjar Freya gains 1 Sacred Orb with each Basic Attack (up to 6 Sacred Orbs). Consuming 1 Sacred Orb term grants Freya 100% Attack Speed for her next Basic Attack (max 6 stacks). Sacred Orbs gradually recover when out of combat. Skill1: Leap of Faith Freya leaps to the target area and strikes the ground with her shield, gaining 500 (+100% Total Physical Attack) shield and dealing 200 (+80% Extra Physical Attack) Physical Damage to enemies within while knocking them airborne for 0.4s. Skill 2: Valkyrie Slash Freya charges forward and slashes, dealing 150 (+50% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage and slowing enemies by 30% for 0.5s. This skill has no base cooldown but consumes 2 Sacred Orbs per cast. This skill deals 50% damage to Creeps. Skill 3: Valkyrie Descent Freya selects a target area and dives down as a Sacred Orb, dealing 300 (+75% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage and 40% slow to enemies in her path and at the landing point for 2s. Upon landing, Freya enters the Valkyrie state for 12s, during which her Basic Attacks deal 30 extra damage (extra damage cannot Crit) and she recovers 60 (+40% Total Physical Attack) HP per Basic Attack, and her Basic Attacks deal splash damage.
Strengths
Exceptional Mobility & Chase Her Skill 2 (Valkyrie Slash) now has no cooldown and can be cast continuously by spending Sacred Orbs, giving her unmatched dash spam and chase potential, similar to an Assassin. Massive Team Fight Impact Her Ultimate, Valkyrie Descent, allows her to initiate from long range (similar to a global-range blink), land with a shield, and transform her Basic Attacks into ranged AoE damage. This allows her to disrupt the enemy backline and clear multiple enemies simultaneously. High Outplay Potential The combination of her spammable dashes (S2), her new shield-toss CC (S1), and her enhanced basic attacks gives skilled players immense control over positioning and damage focus. Unstoppable Objective Take While in her Ultimate form, the ranged AoE basic attacks allow her to quickly clear jungle creeps and push turrets from a safer distance. Built-in Sustain Her Ultimate grants a shield upon activation and can include healing in its transformed state (depending on the specific revamp patch/talents), making her highly durable in extended fights.
Weaknesses
Reliance on Sacred Orbs Her entire mobility and damage amplification are tied to her Sacred Orb passive. If she is unable to land attacks or skills to generate Orbs, her damage output plummets, and her S2 dashes are disabled. Slower Attack Speed Compared to Old Kit The attack speed bonus from her old passive has been significantly reduced or entirely tied to Orb generation, making her early-game farming and sustained DPS feel sluggish without certain core items like Golden Staff or Corrosion Scythe. Vulnerable to Hard CC Despite the increased mobility, if Freya is hit by a strong, unavoidable Crowd Control (CC) skill (e.g., Minsitthar's Ult, Franco's Ult) while deep in the enemy line, her life-saving dash sequence is interrupted, making her an easy target. High Item Dependency (Scaling) She needs 2-3 core items (like War Axe, Golden Staff, or a Crit item) to reach her full damage and speed potential. She can be easily pressured and shut down in the early game before her first items are completed. Ultimate Commitment While her Ultimate provides great initiation, it's a one-way trip. Once she flies in, she is often isolated and must rely on her S2 dashes and shield to survive the focus fire.
Pro Builds
This build is designed to make Freya an unstoppable, high-damage Fighter who can sustain in prolonged fights and shred tanks. Tough Boots Provides Magic Defense and CC Reduction (Resilience) to avoid being locked down when diving the backline. Golden Staff Converts Crit Chance to Attack Speed and makes her passive Sacred Orb/Basic Attack effects trigger more often. Essential for her damage and sustain. War Axe Gives a mix of Physical Attack, CDR, and HP. Its passive grants stacking Physical ATK and Penetration over time, perfect for extended brawls. Endless Battle Provides Physical Attack, CDR, and Lifesteal. Its True Damage passive activates after every skill, adding massive burst to her skill-basic attack combos. Blade of Despair Grants the highest Physical Attack, drastically increasing her burst damage and the size of her ultimate's shield. The passive boosts damage on low-HP targets. Malefic Roar Provides high Physical Penetration, allowing her to bypass enemy defense items (Armor) and deal significant damage even to durable heroes/tanks. This combination maximizes her basic attack/passive synergy, true damage, and overall physical attack for both damage and survivability.
Assassin Emblem
The combination maximizes Freya's damage output as a burst Fighter: Thrill (Tier 1) provides extra Adaptive Attack, boosting both her physical damage and the scaling of her shield. Weapon Master (Tier 2) increases her Physical Attack from all items, further enhancing her damage and survivability (since her ultimate shield scales with Physical Attack). War Cry (Core) grants a damage increase after dealing damage three times with Basic Attacks or skills, which Freya can trigger quickly with her fast combo rotation. This setup makes her burst stronger and her ultimate shield bigger.
Battle Spell
Flicker covers Freya's biggest flaw—her vulnerability upon commitment—while simultaneously enhancing her ability to secure a kill on a high-priority, mobile target. It turns a risky dive into a strategic maneuver with a guaranteed escape route.
Freya's Dominant Phase: Mid-to-Late Game
Mid-Game Spikes: She hits her first major power spike once she completes Golden Staff and War Axe. Her basic attack damage, attack speed, and sustain drastically increase, allowing her to easily win one-on-one fights and join team skirmishes effectively. Late-Game Scaling: In the late game, with full core items (especially Blade of Despair and Malefic Roar), her damage and the size of her ultimate's shield become enormous. She can burst down squishy heroes and is durable enough to shred tanks, making her a dominant force in decisive team fights. She is relatively weak in the early game (Level 1-3) compared to most Fighters, needing to farm to complete her key items.
Best With Tigreal
100% co-op win rate
Tigreal's ultimate can group enemies in one place. This creates a perfect scenario for Freya to use her ultimate and second skill combo, hitting every enemy for massive AoE damage safely.
Watch Out For Layla
100% counter win rate
As a highly immobile marksman, Layla cannot escape Freya's sudden engagement. Freya can use her ultimate (Valkyrie Descent) and first skill (Leap of Faith) to quickly close the gap and burst Layla down before she can react.
